LOGAN Full-time undergraduate and graduate students at the Utah State University are encouraged to apply for three $1,000 scholarships set up for openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons.
The scholarships are funded primarily through donations from Scott Knell, who received his master's degree from USU.
"Through this program," he said, "I hope to provide students the support needed to continue their education while highlighting the importance of diversity in the community."
The deadline to apply is Feb. 27. Applications are available in various university locations including Career Services, Financial Aid, Women's Resource Center and the Gay and Lesbian Student Resource Center.
