"Shiva Ratri, the Night of Lord Shiva" will be Sunday, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. at the Krishna Temple, 8628 S. Main, Spanish Fork.
It will be celebrated with storytelling, a sacred bathing ceremony of Lord Shiva, a power point presentation projected onto a huge screen, the chanting of Lord Shiva's 108 names, music, dance, and feasting. Devotee actors have prepared a multimedia drama titled "Marriage of Shiva & Parvati."
The public is invited and if possible should bring a flower or some vegetarian preparation to augment the feast. Admission is free, and to help the temple construction, there will be a $5 per plate fee for the feast, which traditionally comprises 20-30 different vegetarian preparations.
