Not all of us can be a weight-loss challenger on "Dr. Phil," or a project on "Extreme Makeover."

Nor does everyone want to be.

But maybe you'd just like to change your eating habits and lack the knowledge or motivation to do it. The Deseret News Food section is offering an opportunity to win a nutrition makeover from the experts.

Write, fax or e-mail us with your nutrition challenges. Are you a chocoholic? Still trying to lose pregnancy pounds from your last baby? Can't beat the nighttime munchies? Are you an Atkins dropout or a victim of the low-fat frenzy? We will pick three readers to get a free one-on-one counseling session with a registered dietitian. In future articles, we will follow up on how the readers are faring with their new fare.

When you write us, please include the following:

1. Your height, weight and a photo of yourself.

2. Background (occupation, family situation, etc.)

3. Any health problems or recent surgeries.

4. What your critical issues are (This might be lack of time or planning, constant snacking, stress, not enough fruits and veggies, etc.)

5. All medications or dietary/herbal supplements you are taking.

6. Your address, phone number and/or e-mail address.

In order to be considered, you should:

1. Be willing to share your height and weight in the paper and to be photographed.

2. Be willing to cooperate honestly with the dietitian in assessing your needs.

3. Be in reasonably good health without any medical conditions that would put you at risk for starting a diet/exercise program.

4. Be willing to follow the dietitians' advice.

5. Be willing to share both the advice and your results in the paper.

6. Deadline for submission is Feb. 25.

Submit entries to Valerie Phillips, food editor, Deseret Morning News, 30 E. 100 South, P.O. Box 1257, Salt Lake City, UT 84110; by fax at 801-237-2550; or by e-mail to vphillips@desnews.com.
