The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University, will host an artist talk in conjunction with its exhibition, "Jane Catlin: Adaptatons." Catlin, an artist and associate professor of art at the university, will discuss her work on Thursday at 5 p.m. For more information call 435-797-0165.
Pioneer Theatre Company's Loge Gallery is looking for artists to be considered for the 2004-5 Loge Gallery season. Interested artists should bring in a portfolio Feb. 2-13 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to the PTC's office, Room 325. Artists should be prepared to leave portfolios for two months. Each artist selected will display their works for two and a half weeks during one of the PTC's plays.
Brushworks Fine Art Studio & Gallery, 61 N. Main in St. George, will hold a 3-day drawing workshop by noted illustrator and teacher Robert Barrett. The workshop will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-31. A slide show, demonstration and personal instruction in the basics of drawing and painting the human figure and portraits will be covered by Barrett. The Utah Arts Council still has applications available for its Visual Arts Fellowship program. The council awards two $5,000 fellowships annually to encourage Utah's visual artists and to advance their professional careers. Fellowships are available in areas of crafts, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and conceptual art.
