Utah vs. Texas Christian

Saturday, Sept. 13, 7:05 p.m. MDTAmon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth, Texas

Media

TV: ESPN-2

Radio: KALL-AM 910 (and Utah Sports Network stations)

Utah (1-1)

Ranking: Tied for 39th, AP

Looking ahead: Hosts UTEP Sept. 20, 7 p.m. MDT

Notebook: This game opens WAC play for both teams. "We've got two games in; it's fine," said coach Ron McBride. "Two games are enough to get ready (for conference)." It's a Mountain Division game, but that makes no difference; all WAC games count the same.

Watch for: Utah to try and build upon last week's businesslike win at Louisville. The offensive line was dominant, making running easier for Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala (26 carries, 143 yards), who was almost unstoppable once he got up a load of steam through the creases the line provided. The Utes want RB Juan Johnson to get the ball more, too. Defense held Louisville to 15 net rushing yards.

Sick bay: Out - OG Todd Jackson (foot sprain, in cast); WR Donny Utu (hamstring); LB Jason Hooks (arthroscopic knee surgery, Aug. 22); LB Dustin Pearce (broken foot); FS Brandon Dart (torn ACL). Doubtful - DE John Frank (groin pull). Questionable - DT Rhett Tatton (hamstring tear); LB Cyrus Satoafaiga (arthroscopic knee surgery, Aug. 19, separated shoulder); DT Richard Seals (ankle sprain).

Texas Christian University (0-1)

Conference: WAC-Mountain

Nickname: Horned Frogs

Colors: Purple and white

Coach: Pat Sullivan

Ranking: Not ranked

Looking ahead: At Vanderbilt Sept. 20

Notebook: Coming off impressive showing in 17-10 loss at Kansas. Tied 10-10 when, with 6:15 left, Kansas pulled off 60-yard scoring pass. TCU led 10-7 with 22 minutes left. Held KU to 159 yards rushing, 285 yards total offense, but Frogs gained only 102 and 151 themselves.
