HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Gov. John G. Rowland has been ordered to turn over all documents relating to renovations at his summer cottage, personal investments, tax returns and gifts in a scandal that has led to talk of impeachment, the Associated Press has learned.
Rowland received a subpoena but was not asked to testify before the federal grand jury investigating alleged bribery and bid-rigging within the Republican administration.
It was the first time any of Rowland's personal records have been sought by federal investigators.
Ross Garber, Rowland's chief legal counsel, told the AP he saw the subpoena Tuesday but did not have a copy.
