AMERICAN FORK — American Fork Canyon is closed to all cars and trucks until further notice.

Geoff Dupaix, a spokesman for the Utah Department of Transportation, said this week's storms have weakened the snowpack and heightened the possibility of problems with slides.

Once the avalanche danger has passed, the highway will be-opened, he said.

Motorists are urged to use caution and travel below or at the posted speed limits on all state highways during the snowstorm period, he said.
