Fog and haze made it hard to make out the obscured Salt Lake skyline Sunday. By Wednesday, things should change as south winds arrive.

Santa Claus shouldn't need Rudolph this year in Salt Lake City. The current dense fog and haze should be gone by Christmas Eve.
According to the National Weather Service, areas of dense fog along the Wasatch Front will continue this morning and patchy fog will persist tonight and Wednesday morning.
However, Wednesday night will feature partly cloudy skies and south winds, 10-20 mph, that should scour out the valley haze and fog. Christmas Eve lows should be in the mid-30s.
Monday's high in Salt Lake City was only 36 degrees and visibility was generally as low as one-quarter of a mile. Monday's overnight low was 28 degrees. Provo warmed to only 37 degrees Monday while Moab was 47 and St. George was 57.
Today's high is expected to be in the upper 30s in Salt Lake City, warming to the lower 40s by Wednesday.
Christmas Day is predicted to be mostly cloudy with a 40-percent chance of rain and highs in the low 40s.
Sunrise is at 7:49 a.m. today and sunset will be at 5:04 p.m.
