Day Christensen, Highland, created four larger-than-life-size bronze sugar beets to be positioned throughout the Sugar House business district. Christensen used the sugar beet as a symbol for Sugar House. Dan Gerhart, Salt Lake City, created an outdoor sculpture and four indoor wall pieces for the Pioneer Precinct building, the police department's new homeon Salt Lake City's west side. The art is based on the concept of mathematical and social order. It's crafted with cast bronze, stainless steel, and wood veneers. Louise Fischman, Wayne Geary, Paul Heath and Linda Nowlin, all of Salt Lake City, have spent three years creating two expansive environmental artworks along the Jordan River Parkway. The art is designed to invite people to enjoy all aspects of the river. Cordell Taylor, Salt Lake City, created "Order to Chaos," a fabricated painted steel sculpture for the median island on 400 W. between Pierpont Ave. and 300 South. The work is a tribute to the past, present and future of the district.
