Conga — New from the creators of Cranium, this is a cross between Catch Phrase and regular Cranium. Players write an answer on a magic gizmo that is passed around as others try to guess it. Random timing adds to the fun. It's billed for players from ages 8-88, so there are good opportunities for intergenerational interaction.

Hullaballoo — Another Cranium creation, this one's a cross between Simon Says and Twister aimed at kids. You place pads on the floor and move, march or crawl (as directed) to them. Winners (whoever's on a certain pad at the end of the game) get to perform a special activity.

Whad' Ya Know is from the makers of Apples to Apples and features wacky questions based on the NPR show.

Strategy games

Attack! — A new game along the lines of Axis and Allies, it features action in the Western Hemisphere.

Age of Mythology allows players to harvest resources — and then do battle with what they've amassed.

Just for kids

Cat in the Hat — It actually came before the movie but is back. Kids "clean up the house" through letter- and color-matching activities.

Monster Stomp lets kids build creatures out of Play Doh — and then stomp on them.

LDS market

Seek — The original Mormon trivia game is back in a new version of questions and answers.

Ironrod — A board game, somewhat similar to Candyland, lets family members of all ages search for the Tree of Life while trying to avoid Outer Darkness.
