FARMINGTON Trovon Donta Ross, charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of his former girlfriend, is scheduled to stand trial June 2-11.
Second District Judge Rodney Page on Thursday set May 24 as the date for jury selection to start in the case, which potentially carries the death penalty if Ross is convicted.
Ross, 29, is charged with aggravated murder for allegedly shooting Anna Lee Christensen to death in her Clinton home. Prosecutors maintain Ross shot Christensen in the head while she was standing, then fired two more bullets into her neck and abdomen after she fell to the floor.
Ross also is charged with first-degree felony attempted aggravated murder for allegedly trying to kill Christensen's new boyfriend, and third-degree felony failure to respond to an officer's signal to stop.
