Tracy Jensen acknowledged that he had received letters asking him to stop collecting donations but that he was out of town and could not respond. Information provided to him by the division was "not very good," he said, and he misunderstood that Johnston's letter would be rejected because Daren and Barbara decided to seek care elsewhere. The family is now seeking a letter from the physician who is providing Parker's care.

"It's a big misunderstanding that is very rectifiable," Tracy Jensen said.

The account to which donations had all but stopped was closed on Wednesday, he said, and the family has no intention of seeking further donations.

Still, "I'm filing the paperwork (with the division) so that I can be in compliance," Tracy Jensen said.

Zions Bank confirmed the closure, saying the account had a zero balance Wednesday afternoon. A donation solicitation still appeared on the Jensen Web site, however.

Although he declined to say how many people made contributions and how much those contributions totaled, Tracy Jensen said the family is grateful for the support. Daren Jensen lost his job during the ordeal and had no means to pay the large legal, medical and living expenses they incurred.

"It was never a lot of money, but you have no idea how that saved (Daren Jensen's) bacon," his brother said. "Just for treatment alone, the costs were three times more than what we've collected."
