1953 Born in Ogden.
1974 Completes carpentry school.
1976 Becomes first female wilderness ranger in Uinta Wilderness Area in Utah.
1986 Buys five-acre farm near Moscow, Idaho. Founds Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute.
1988 Starts selling organic peppers, garlic and lettuce at farmer's market.
1989 Creates dried falafel mix.
1993 Issues private stock to grow her Paradise Farm Organics dried food product line.
1996 Publishes first mail order catalog.
1997 Creates Pay Dirt Farm School, in which students pay to live and work on farm.
1998 Raises almost $1 million in another stock sale.
1999 Introduces Web sites www.backcountryfood.org and www.maryjanesfarm.org. Farm sales reach nearly $500,000.
2001 Creates MaryJanesFarm magazine.
