PROVO — Jurors deliberated Monday for a second day in the murder trial of Robert Steven Hatch.

Robert Hatch — who is accused of shooting his estranged wife, Sharee Hatch, twice at close range — faces charges of murder, burglary and violating a protective order.

If convicted of all crimes, Robert Hatch could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Prosecutors say Robert Hatch killed Sharee Hatch at her Spanish Fork home, but defense attorneys insisted throughout the four-week trial that Sharee Hatch's boyfriend, Mike Pino, committed the crime.

While Pino testified on his behalf that he was hiding in a nearby closet at the time of the shooting, defense attorneys suggested that Pino framed Robert Hatch for the murder.

A jury consisting of three men and five women is expected to reach a verdict today after further deliberation.

Jurors for the last 4th District murder case deliberated for more than six hours before finding the defendant, John Vinanti, guilty of murdering his girlfriend.
