SPRINGVILLE — A 7-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained in a two-car accident on Main Street Friday night.

Karlee Haymond was seriously injured when her mother's minivan and a car collided at the intersection of 1400 North and Main St. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Alcohol may have been involved.

"We have taken a blood sample for testing and when the time comes will file the appropriate charges," said Springville Police Lt. Dell Gordon.

The girl was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. A medical helicopter couldn't be used because of the snow, but she was later flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City where she died Saturday.

The girl's mother, Sharane Haymond, Springville, was not injured, but another child riding in the minivan suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other car was Brian K. Miller, 19, of Mapleton. Information on his condition has not been released.
