The economic and social burden of illegal immigrants is a problem for every taxpaying U.S. citizen. Sen. Orrin Hatch's bill, the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, to allow illegal aliens to receive federal grants and loans for college and in-state tuition is the wrong policy. It promotes illegal immigration, rewards those who break the law, and provides special privileges that are not accorded to native-born Americans.
My grandson, an American-born citizen, paid out-of-state tuition for four years' study at a Utah university. Are illegal aliens more deserving of an educational benefit than my grandson?
