U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop, with his insertion in the energy bill allowing hot radioactive waste to be redefined so it will be allowed in a commercial facility, has demonstrated that he is not a representative for Utah, but Envirocare's bought and paid for lackey.
Both of them, Bishop and Envirocare, have lied and misled Utahns and now want to put the people of Utah at risk by their disastrous tactics. They are changing the playing field so the Nuclear Regulatory Commission can issue Envirocare an updated license to accept, handle and store hot radioactive waste.
Bishop stated that the current definition of the radioactive waste at the Fernald, Ohio, federal cleanup site "deprives a significant Utah company of additional revenue." That significant Utah company is Envirocare, which lied to Utahns when it promised that the company would not pursue and accept the hotter radioactive waste.
It is time to let Envirocare and their lackey, Rob Bishop, know once and for all, that Utahns will not put up with their underhanded, misleading, lying tactics.
