Many ways to help others
Amnesty International: Help needed for the 4th Annual Amnesty International Human Rights festival. Post fliers or help contact media.
Community Services Council: Donate wrapping paper for senior citizens holiday food boxes.
Fall leaf haul: Individuals and groups needed to help rake leaves for the homebound elderly and disabled. Kickoff begins Nov. 8 and continues through fall.
The Family Center: Assist with Christmas program for the center's clients. Hours flexible and need is immediate.
Great Salt Lake Resource Conservation: Needs a clerical assistant knowledgable in Word, Excel, e-mail and other programs, as well as help with funding research for grants.
Harmony Hospice: Provide friendship and encouragement to patients and their families enduring life-limiting illnesses. Training provided.
Kids Cafe- Utah Food Bank: Prepare, serve and clean up meals for at-risk children Monday through Friday, two- to three-hour shifts.
Life Care Bank: Dedicated individual needed to help senior citizens access prescription assistance through the major pharmaceutical companies. Volunteer should be comfortable talking on the phone and dealing with clients in person.
Make-a-Wish Foundation: Become a Wish Ambassador or Wish Consultant and spread the word to the public. Public speaking skill helpful, flexible schedule. Also need clerical volunteer.
March of Dimes: Assist low-income pregnant women with redeeming points earned through prenatal care participation for baby and maternity items.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Help low-income seniors with household chores, curtains, light housekeeping and yardwork. Help always needed with mailings and data entry.
