For more information on planting bulbs, log onto www.netherlandbulb.com. The Web site offers a wealth of information on selecting and growing tulips and other bulbs.

Select bulbs by size. Bigger bulbs mean bigger flowers. Some advertisements list the diameter by inches and some list it by centimeters.

Most of the newer hybrid tulips are best dug and divided after they bloom. If you want to include tulips in rock gardens, wild or natural areas, select varieties that can be left in the soil year after year and seldom need dividing.
