Davis District has panel to evaluate boundaries

FARMINGTON — The Davis School District now has a committee to study boundary changes that could affect six elementary schools.

A new school currently under construction is expected to open in Layton by 2004. That means boundaries will need to be adjusted to balance student populations in the affected schools.

The committee, comprising district and school representatives and residents, will meet with community councils in the coming weeks. A Nov. 11 open house is set for 6:30 p.m. at Syracuse Junior High School, where maps will show proposed boundary changes.

The affected elementary schools include Antelope, Bluff Ridge, Cook, Heritage, Layton and Syracuse.
