Fashion Place TRAX closed on weekend

MURRAY — The Fashion Place West station on the TRAX light-rail line will be closed, along with the adjacent park-and-ride lot, today and Sunday due to the I-215 TRAX bridge expansion project.

TRAX will operate on its regular schedule through the weekend. However, Utah Transit Authority officials say riders traveling past the Fashion Place West station, in either direction, should plan on a 15-minute delay.

Shuttle buses will transport riders between the Midvale Fort Union station (7200 South) and the Murray Central station (5300 South) , where they can continue their trips on TRAX.

All other stations and park-and-ride lots will be open.

The TRAX bridge across I-215 is being widened to allow for two tracks and two-way TRAX traffic. The existing single track across the bridge restricts TRAX operations and makes it difficult for the agency to meet increasing ridership demand, according to UTA.
