DEATH: STANLIE SHARWAN SMITH

      STANLIE SHARWAN SMITH, AGE 24, DIED THURSDAY, MAY 18, 1995 FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT.

      SHE WAS BORN NOVEMBER 25, 1970 IN PROVO, UTAH TO HYRUM WAYNE SMITH AND A. GAIL COOPER SMITH. SHARWAN GRADUATED FROM VIEWMONT HIGH SCHOOL IN DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH. SHE GRADUATED FROM SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY IN CEDAR CITY AND FILLED AN LDS MISSION TO ARGENTINA. SHE WAS VERY ACTIVE IN THE LDS CHURCH, SERVING IN MANY CALLINGS AND AS PRESIDENT OF THE LAMBDA DELTA SIGMA SORORITY IN CEDAR CITY. AN ATHLETE DURING HER SCHOOL YEARS, SHARWAN PLAYED BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL. SHE WAS SELECTED AS THE 1990 DAYS OF 47 QUEEN IN SALT LAKE CITY. SHE WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED PIANIST AND AS A MEMBER OF THE SMITH FOUR SINGING GROUP, SHE RECENTLY PRODUCED HER FIRST ALBUM.SURVIVING FAMILY INCLUDE HER FIANCE, TROY CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE, UTAH; PARENTS, HYRUM AND GAIL SMITH OF ST. GEORGE, UTAH; BROTHERS AND SISTERS: GLENNA RUTH BURDICK, STACIE GAIL SHURTLIFF AND JOSEPH E. SMITH, ALL OF GUNLOCK, UTAH: REBECCA DEVON SMITH AND JACOB LANCE SMITH, BOTH OF ST. GEORGE, UTAH.

      FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 1995, 10 A.M. AT THE TUACAN CENTER FOR ARTS. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON TUESDAY EVENING FROM 7-9 P.M. AT THE METCALF MORTUARY, 300 WEST ST. GEORGE BLVD., AND ON WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 8:30-9:30 A.M. AT THE TUACAN CENTER PRIOR TO SERVICES.

      IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS TO THE SHARWAN SMITH-SHILO SHURTLIFF FOUNDATION ARE SUGGESTED IN CARE OF METCALF MORTUARY, 300 WEST ST. GEORGE BLVD., ST. GEORGE, UTAH 84770.
