Drought forcing ranchers in Arizona to sell cattle

TUCSON, Ariz. — Some of the cattle ranchers in Arizona's southern counties are selling more than half of their scrawny herds because of the state's drought.

The creeks that feed livestock water tanks need rain. Little forage is left for cattle to graze. If the drought continues, prices for the animals and beef could rise by 10 percent, officials said.
