Earle Bruce paid $110,000 to the University of Northern Iowa in order to be released from his contract as head football coach, according to school records.
Bruce agreed to reimburse Northern Iowa for his first-year salary of $64,000, in addition to $10,000 he was paid for moving expenses when he came to Cedar Falls. The remaining $36,000 is for "additional consideration."
