HERSHISER, CANSECO ELIGIBLE FOR ARBITRATION

Orel Hershiser, the playoff and World Series MVP, and Jose Canseco, the American League's Most Valuable Player, are among the 177 players eligible to file for salary arbitration.

Other AL stars eligible include Roger Clemens, the 1986 and 1987 AL Cy Young Award winner; Minnesota outfielder Kirby Puckett; California first baseman Wally Joyner, and Milwaukee pitcher Ted Higuera.From the NL, Cincinnati pitcher Tom Browning, who pitched a perfect game last season; New York Mets hurlers Dwight Gooden and Ron Darling, and San Francisco first baseman Will Clark are among those eligible.
