Weber State may not be in the University of Nevada's league anymore, in more ways than one, but that doesn't mean today's game won't be of any interest to the Reno fans.
As former Big Sky Conference rivals, the Wildcats and the Wolf Pack have had many interesting battles, with none more memorable than last year's contest. Weber led 49-14 with under 10 minutes to play in the third quarter, but Nevada came roaring back, scoring six unanswered TD's to win 55-49. It was the biggest comeback for a victory in NCAA history.Weber coach Dave Arslanian made some strong comments about Nevada and the officiating after the game, so he isn't exactly expecting a warm welcome today. "I'm looking forward to taking a couple of security guards with me to the sidelines," he quipped.
Since last year's game the Wolf Pack has moved up to Division 1-A and has instantly become a contender in the Big West Conference. Nevada is 4-0 in league play and 5-2 overall. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have turned out to be a middle-of-of-the-pack Division 1-AA Big Sky team. Weber is 4-4 overall and 3-3 in conference outings.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and will be televised by KXIV-Channel 14.
