The Chicago Bulls on Friday put veteran guard and 3-point specialist Craig Hodges on waivers.
The move means Hodges, who matched Larry Bird by winning his third straight NBA 3-point shooting contest on All-Star weekend in Charlotte, is available to any other team willing to pay half his 1992-93 salary of $800,000. The Bulls said they will pick up the other half.If no other team wants Hodges on those terms, he will clear waivers and become eligible to be signed by any team, including the Bulls.
Hodges, 32, is the Bulls' single-season leader in 3-point field goals, sinking 87 of 181 attempts in the 1989-90 season. He was 36 of 96 in the past season.
