YEAR-END ACTIVITIES AT SCHOOLS INCLUDE HEALTH FAIRS, OPERETTA

Many schools are preparing year-end events in coming weeks. They include:

- Health by Choice Fairs co-sponsored by Granite School District and the Salt Lake City-County Health Department. Wednesday, April 29, Hillsdale Elementary, 3275 W. 3100 South; May 7, Monroe Elementary, 4450 W. 3100 South; May 14, Pioneer Elementary, 3860 S. 3380 West; May 21, Redwood Elementary, 2650 S. Redwood Road. Each will be from 1 to 6 p.m. and is open to the community.- "Scarecrow Dick" operetta will be Wednesday, April 29, 2 p.m. and Thursday, April 30, 9 a.m. for students and Thursday 7 p.m. for the public, at Lake Ridge Elementary School, 7400 W. 3400 South. Teacher directors are Becky Rapier and Johanna Gillespie.

- Granite District School Bus Road-eo is May 8, 4 p.m., at the district service center, 380 W. Gregson Ave. Drivers will compete in 10 course events.

- Valley Junior High School students will present Ballet Folklorico on Wednesday, April 29, 7 p.m., at the school, 4195 S. 3200 West. Artists-in-residence Lupe and Yvonne Reyes have taught dances from Mexican, Mayan and Aztec lore to students. Admission is $3 for adults.
