Lane County authorities said a body found Sunday in a lake on the Oregon Coast was believed to be that of James Patton Montgomery III, a former Salt Lake host of the television program "PM Magazine."

The body was spotted in Mercer Lake near Florence about 9 a.m. Sunday by a part-time resident of the area who was visiting a vacation home.Sheriff's Lt. Eric Langford said the body was tentatively identified based on the victim's clothing and general physical description.

Montgomery, 33, who lived in Oregon City, had been missing since Oct. 24, when he disappeared from a cabin at Mercer Lake.

Langford said the cause and manner of the man's death remained under investigation. A search and rescue team recovered the body.
