A note threatening to blow up a United Airlines flight with 288 people aboard was found in the plane's restroom on a flight between New York and Tokyo, forcing the airliner to make an emergency landing in Anchorage, Alaska, federal and airline officials said Monday. "The initial indications are that it was only a threat," said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Paul Steucke in Anchorage, adding that the plane landed safely and there were no reports of injuries or confrontations. A spokesman said the note threatened to blow up the airliner, but he would not say what demands, if any, were made in the note.
