Craig Hodges' estranged wife was charged with aggravated battery and reckless conduct after she allegedly doused the Chicago Bulls guard with gasoline and threw lighted matches at him, authorities said.

Hodges, 31, who returned this week to the Bulls after a knee operation last month, wasn't injured in the incident. Carlita Hodges, 30, dumped a small container of gasoline on Hodges on Wednesday morning after he dropped off the couple's two sons at an elementary school in this northern Chicago suburb, said Tim Touhy, a spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office. She then allegedly threw two lighted matches at Hodges, but both went out before hitting him. She was arrested by Northbrook police as she returned a rental car, police Sgt. Michael Green said.
