Protesters quiet during beach volleyball games

Beach volleyball competition has gone on without a hitch, despite threats of protests from environmentalists who have long opposed the development of the beach as an Olympic venue.

Supposedly, up to 2,000 protesters were set to use mirrors to flash sunlight at the venue, hindering the telecast of competition. But the only stink raised so far at Bondi Beach was the one local who was loudly protesting the high price of raw prawns at a local fish stand just outside the venue.
