LINDON A rear-end crash on I-15 turned deadly Friday night in Lindon.
A car slammed into the back of a semitrailer while heading south at about 8:30 p.m.
The car's passenger, Lindsey Sandstrom, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car's driver was flown to University Hospital with critical injuries, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Steve Winward.
According to the police report, prior to the accident the vehicle had suffered mechanical problems that caused the car to swerve into the adjacent lane, where it collided with the semi.
