Guenter Nitz 1931 ~ 2005 Guenter Nitz passed away peacefully in his home at the side of his loving wife, Gisela, July 9, 2005. Guenter was born on June 19, 1931 in Essen, Germany to Wilhelm Friedrich and Veronika Zdunnek Nitz. Guenter served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Hamburg, Germany, and served his country faithfully in the US Armed Forces. He was loved by all who met him. He always had a positive attitude, even when things weren't going well. Guenter's greatest possession was his family. He did everything he could for them. He was a great example of love and giving what he had. He always made people laugh, even during his illness. Guenter is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Gisela; daughter, Diane Allen; son, Michael (Alison) Nitz; nine grandchildren, whom he loved very much. They will miss their Opa. What a great reunion it will be with him again. WE LOVE YOU, OPA! Funeral services for Guenter will be held Wednesday July 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Parley's 5th Ward, 2615 East Stringham Ave. (2287 So.), where friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
