Katina N. Kyremes 1910 ~ 2005 Katina Kyremes passed from this life to the next on June 16, 2005. She was born on October 26, 1910, in Levidon, Greece to Vassili and Panagiota Skoulas. She married Nick Kyremes in 1929 and came to this country as a young bride to make a new life with her husband. She was a true philanthropist and was one of the founders of the Central City Community Center. Also, in memory of her son she established the annual Demitrios Kyremes Scholarship at Westminster College and was a patron of the Hellenic Cultural Association. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, loved her faith and was proud of her heritage. She is survived by her brother George and sisters Eleni, Eugenia and Christina along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick and her son Dimitri Kyremes. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 S. 300 West. A viewing will be held at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E. 100 South from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with Trisagion service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of lowers she asked that friends and family make a donation in her name to a charity of their choice. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed by her friends and family. May her memory be eternal.
