Linda Rees Wang "Beloved Mother and Grandmother" Linda returned to her Father in Heaven on May 20 after a sudden illness. She will be greatly missed by all. She was born May 28, 1945 in Salt Lake City. She was an accomplished student who graduated from South High School in 1963 and from the University of Utah in 1967 with a Bachelors Degree in Geology. Linda spent many years teaching Junior High School students about science. She began her career at Riverview Middle School, and resumed working after a number of years at Granite Park Junior, Hunter Junior, and finally at South Hills Middle School. Her love of science and learning continued throughout her life. She especially enjoyed visiting Yellowstone National Park each spring and summer to watch geysers and to see old friends. Linda loved to paint, sew, sing, garden, and to collect rocks and minerals. As her health deteriorated over the years, she was not able to do all of these things as much as she wanted, but the love of these activities remained throughout her life. The greatest joy in the final 18 months of her life was to spend time with her grandson Sam. She cherished every moment of time spent with family and friends. Linda is survived by her son Bjorn Kristian, daughter-in-law Katherine, her beloved grandson Samuel, and her brother Clyde Rees. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Rhea Biesinger Brown, step-father William Burton Brown, and father Delbert Clayton Rees. We would like to thank the many health care professionals who helped Linda in the final days of her life. A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary at 4760 S. State Street, on Friday, May 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28 at the Cottonwood Eighth Ward, 6313 S. 2300 E. at 11a.m. Additional viewing will be held for one hour prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in Murray City Cemetery.
