1924 ~ 2004
David Leo Mehr, age 80, recently of San Jose, California passed away the evening of August 3, 2004 at his present home in Bountiful, Utah.
David was born January 25, 1924, a son of Edward Jr. and Anna Barbara Nyffenegger Mehr. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His mission for the church was served in the East Central States Mission. He married Loretta Kathleen Price, June 27, 1953, his beloved wife of 51 years, in Loretta's home of Hannibal, Missouri. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on the 25th of October 1957. David served as a Sergeant in the USAF during World War II. He attended San Francisco City College, later getting his degree while at San Jose State. He was a Methods Planner for 18 years with General Electric, and retired from Lockheed Corporation.
David had a very kind and gentle way about him, both with people and with animals, and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; twin brother, Daniel S. Mehr of Wesson, Mississippi; a brother, Edward of Milbrae, CA; a sister, Betty Barnett of Yreka, CA; and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Heddy Hollings
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Midway Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. Online guest book at russonmortuary.com
