1922 ~ 2004
Beth White Dredge, dedicated wife, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend was retrieved by her sweetheart while peacefully sleeping on May 26, 2004.
She was born May 14, 1922 to LeRoy D. and Maude Clark White in Perry, UT. She married the love of her life, Charles H. Dredge, April 11, 1941; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
For most of her adult life she lived in Kaysville, "a pretty little place" where she spent every waking moment serving and enjoying wonderful friends and family. She was actively involved in the community including Art Club, Literary Club, Jaycees, and her dear group of friends the "Exhausted Roosters". She found great joy in music. Beth played the piano for community functions, religious and family gatherings, funerals, dance recitals, and accompanied many soloists.
She was gifted with the ability to hear a song once or twice and play it beautifully on the piano. She was the first recipient of Kaysville's Unsung Hero award and was startled at the recognition "I don't do anything".
Beth was a member of the LDS Church, where she held numerous positions. Dear to her heart was the Relief Society organization where she served as president several times and in many presidencies.
Beth had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and reading. She skipped a "bench" in grade school where she listened, read, and learned the next grade work along with her own. She had an associate degree from LDS Business college. She served as docent at the Church Art Museum for several years and loved her association there.
During their 61 years together her late husband often referred to her as
"Beautiful, Wonderful, Perfect."
She was.
She will be greatly missed by her four children and their families: Paul and Nancy Dredge, Boston, MA; Carolyn and Douglas Hansen, West Weber; Doug and Jill Dredge, Kaysville; and Dantzel and Mark Wall, Morgan. She is greatly loved by her 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marjorie Mecham (Milton) of Ogden and Dantzel Nelson (Russell) of Salt Lake City, and her brothers Clark White (Grace) and Boyd White (Janice) both of Perry and Richard White (Mary) of Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Douglas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 18th Ward Chapel, 50 E. Mutton Hollow Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
Friends are invited to make a donation in Beth's name to Crohn's Disease Research c/o Matt Hunter
