Hazel Aagard Bailey passed away at her home in Fountain Green, Utah, May 23, 2004 at the age of 95.
She was born on September 18, 1908 in Fountain Green to John Edward Aagard and Mary Ellen Ostler. She graduated from Moroni High School and Brigham Young University. Hazel served a mission to the eastern states from 1932-1934. She met Ernest Allgood Bailey at a dance in Nephi and married him on Nov. 10, 1937 in the Manti Temple. They lived for a short time in Nephi, Utah then moved to Fountain Green, where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Hazel taught school for three years before she married and went back to teaching once her children were in school. She taught at Fountain Green Junior High School, Moroni Junior High School, Fountain Green Elementary, and Spring City Elementary. She retired in 1973. Hazel will be remembered for her courage, her work ethic, her integrity, her sense of humor, and most of all for her unconditional love for her husband, her family and the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Burnell, John and Vance; two sisters, LaPreal and Laurel; and a son, Paul. She is survived by her children Mark (Ann), Price; Ann (Scott) Providence; Paul-deceased- (Carolyn), Fountain
Green; Noel (Tonya) Richfield; Alan (Brenda) and Warren (Lorraine), both of Fountain Green; brothers Welby and Wesley Aagard and a sister, Kenna Rasmussen, 37 grandchildren, and 65 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wed., May 26, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Fountain Green chapel. Viewings will be held Tuesday, May 25 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and 10:30-11:30 the day of the services, both at the Fountain Green Chapel. Interment will be in the Fountain Green cemetery under the direction of Rasmussen Mortuary.
