1943 ~ 2004
Lova Loreen Witt Crane returned to her Heavenly home May 8, 2004, surrounded by her family at her home in Rupert, Idaho, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Loreen was born March 6, 1943 in Murray, Utah to Palmer Grant and Lova Marie Nichols Witt. She grew up and attended high school in Draper, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Gene Crane. They were married October 14, 1960. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. In 1974 they moved their family to Rupert, Idaho where they purchased a farm north of Acequia. They were blessed with five beautiful children. They later divorced.
Loreen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings, including Relief Society president and Primary president. She served a mission to Houston, Texas touching the lives of many people.
Loreen enjoyed oil painting, sewing, quilting, extensive travel, and spending time with friends and family. She had an unwavering testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and strove in all ways to emulate his life. She had a great influence on all who knew her and her life was full of service and love to others.
She is survived by her sister, Loretta (Douglass) Hunter, Draper, Utah; her brother, Wesley (Claudia) Witt, Dra-per, Utah; her five children, Clinton (Leslie) Crane of Rupert, Julie Crane of Oakley, Samuel (Dawn) Crane of Rupert, Jason (Shelley) Crane of Rupert, Cherelynn (Dee Jay) Rasmussen of Rupert; and 23 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the Rupert West Stake Center, 26 South 100 West, Rupert, Idaho, with Bishop Roger Bagley officiating. Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2004 at the Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
