1922 ~ 2004
Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dorthie Mae Robinson Roderick, age 81, passed peacefully from this life Tuesday, January 27, 2004.
Dorthie was born March 8, 1922, in Rexburg ID to Ray and Emma Helena Fikstad Robinson, the first of four children. She was raised in Rexburg and Salt Lake City. She married Jeddie Hawkins Roderick in the Salt Lake Temple June 27, 1940.
During the earlier part of her life, Dorthie liked to golf, ski, bowl, and was a state doubles champion in tennis from West High School. Mom was very creative and artistic. She excelled in ceramics and oil painting. She also liked to knit, crochet, needlepoint, quilt, sew, and decorate. Daily she would sit down and "play around" at the piano. Late in life mom loved to play with the Tenth East Senior Center Harmonica Band at area senior citizen centers and grade schools. Mom was an active member of D.U.P. throughout her adult life. She was active in the LDS church serving in many callings including Relief Society president and a mission with her beloved husband Jed. Dorthie and Jed loved to travel and visit with friends and family.
Dorthie is survived by four children, David and Gaylene Roderick, Andrew and Marsha Gibbons, Kim and Terrie Roderick, Scott Roderick; sister Orlene Wetzel; brother Ray Robinson; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Services will be Saturday, Jan 31, 2004, 3 p.m., Bountiful 28th Ward Chapel, 2285 S. 200 W. Bountiful. Friends may call Fri. 6-8 p.m., Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, and Sat. 1:45-2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
