"Will Be Missed"
OGDEN - Brett Jon Richards' life was taken while traveling in Guatemala January 7, 2004, at the age of 52.
Brett was born to Bernard Maurice Richards and Sophie Marie Reed June 7, 1951 in Ogden.
Brett's career as an architect allowed him to construct buildings that will always be part of the Northern Utah landscape.
Brett was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings at various times, including serving in the Brazil Central Mission, Ward Young Men's President, Stake Young Men's President and Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hadfield Richards; his children, Jeremy (Christy) Richards, and granddaughter Kaitlyn, West Valley City; Kari Richards, Ogden; Jared (Erin) Richards, Cedar City; Heather Richards, currently serving in the Houston-Texas Mission; and Katie Richards, Ogden. He is also survived by his father, Bernard Maruice (Patricia) Richards, Ogden; and his siblings, Sheree (Stanley) Reed, Sandy; Reed (Martha) Richards, Ogden; Tina (Robert) Herman, Ogden; and Teri Richards, Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at Weber Heights Stake Center, 1401 Country Hills Drive (42nd Street) at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the Kingston/Skyline Ward Building, 1425 Kingston Drive (36th Street and Polk) from 5-8 p.m., and Wednesday at the Stake Center from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral Directors, Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
