Marilyn Dixon Perkins

1925 ~ 2008

Marilyn Dixon Perkins, 82, our extremely loving, courageous and devoted mother passed away peacefully with family at her side, April 9, 2008.She was born May 6, 1925, in Payson, Utah, to Selby and Zola Dixon. She married John Junior Perkins on May 12, 1945.

As a child, Marilyn loved being on the family ranch in Birdseye, Utah. A true cowgirl at heart, she moved to the "big city" of Salt Lake with her husband to start raising their family. Her love and devotion to her family was an inspiration to all that knew her. Mom was our rock. Whether she was delivering simple words of wisdom and encouragement, or just patiently listening, we always knew she was there for us. Although she faced innumerable health challenges later in life, she never quit fighting. Quitting was not part of her vocabulary and she confronted her trials with the utmost bravery and dignity. Her absence will leave a physical void in our lives, but her extraordinary spirit will always, always be with us. Mom was, and will continue to be, our greatest cheerleader.

Survived by her three children; Greg Perkins (Bonnie) of Dallas, GA; Lynne Daugirda (Joe) of Salt Lake City, UT; and Jim Perkins (Sarah) of York, PA; ten grandchildren; Matthew, Janae, Andrew, Nicole, Joey, Elli, Holly, James, Caroline, and Harry; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five siblings, and four infant children who died at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. Friends and family are welcome to visit one hour prior to the services.

The family would like to give special thanks to Holladay Health Care for the gentle, loving care and compassion given to our Mom. We would also like to thank all of our extended family and friends for the generous love and support.

"Mom, we love you all the way to Heaven and back a trillion times." Condolences may be sent to family at: www.walkerfamilymortuary.com
