BRYCE CANYON CITY, UT-(Ruby's Inn)Beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Robert Levi "Bob" Syrett, 63, of Bryce Canyon City, Utah, passed away Dec. 19, 2007.
He was born December 13, 1944 in Panguitch, Utah to Carlson Henry and Jean Bybee Syrett.
Bob graduated from Panguitch High School and Southern Utah State College and worked for Philco Ford in California as an accountant.
He moved back to Bryce Canyon where along with his brothers, Bob co-owned and operated Best Western Ruby's Inn Resort at the gateway to Bryce Canyon. He was a governor of Best Western District 1. He served on the Zion's Bank Southern Utah Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of the Utah State Travel Counsel and also served on the Garfield County Travel Board.
He was an active member of the LDS Church where he has served in many capacities, including 2nd counselor of the Bryce Branch.
His survivors include his wife, Beverly Jean Syrett; children, Christopher Brown, Cody Brown, Clinton Brown, D. Rex Brown, Maggie Syrett and Bobbie Syrett; three grandchildren; mother, Jean Syrett; brothers and sisters, Arthur G. (Vicki) Syrett, MonDell H (Florence) Syrett, Roderick K. (Kathern) Syrett, Frederick J. (Tonya) Syrett, Shauna Sue (Blaine) Anderson, Karleen Kae (Richard Dean) McInelly; sister-in-law, Janet LeFevre. He is preceded in death by his father; brothers and sisters, Carl Alvey Syrett, Mary LeFevre, Dawnetta Rutledge, Douglas Syrett
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 in the Tropic LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Tropic on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Bryce Canyon City Cemetery.
