Norma Vea Oviatt Sabey

Norma (Vea) Oviatt Sabey passed away peacefully November 6, 2007, at her home of natural causes. She was born September 21, 1916 to Dee Oviatt and Lillian Erickson. She was the oldest of 10 children. She married Leo Fox Sabey, August 1, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Vea was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many years as secretary of the Relief Society and as Ward Librarian. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Vea is survived by her children:
Richard (Linda) Sabey, Patricia Sabey, son-in-law, Raymond Valdez; brother, Volmer (Rita) Oviatt of Price, UT, sisters: Elva (Ted) Jensen of Elmo, UT, Agnes Allred of Huntington, UT, Marva Jones of Othello, WA, Sally (Daniel) Russ of Cheyenne, WY, and sister-in-law, Melba Oviatt; eight grandchildren. 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Arlene Valdez, sisters: Grace Rodgers, Lois Jensen, brothers: Arden and Ludean Oviatt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Silverado Hospice, also a special granddaughter, Jamie Lyn Bateman, for their loving care and concern for Vea.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday Nov. 10th, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the East Midvale Stake Center, 240 E. 7570 So., Midvale, UT. Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 So. 1950 E., Sandy, UT on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
