Thomas Murray Henderson 1936 ~ 2007 Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and best friend,Thomas Murray Henderson, passed away after a long battle with cancer on what turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day Saturday, November 3, 2007. He was surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born to Chloe Ruth Clays and Murray F. Henderson in Salt Lake City on June 27, 1936 and made the Salt Lake City area his home for his entire life. He married the love of his life, Ann Frances Butler, on June 2, 1962. He attended both elementary and junior high schools in Salt Lake City and he graduated from South High School in 1954. Outgoing, gregarious and quick-humored, Tom remained extremely involved with his graduating class and was an active member of many class reunion committees and related activities over the years. Tom attended the University of Utah and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. His support of the U became a lifelong affair he was a regular at Utah basketball and football games and was honored as a U of U "Superfan" for his longtime support of the Utes several years ago. He raised his family in the proud "Utah Man" tradition.

A consummate professional with an outstanding business reputation, Tom was successful in the lighting and home furnishings industry for more than 40 years. His many loyal clients would attest to his unparalleled honesty and integrity. To Tom, a handshake meant his word. And he worked with his longtime friend and business partner, Max Van Leeuwen, to build Henderson Sales, into one of the most successful sales agencies in the Rocky Mountain region. Tom was an avid golfer, and spent many sunny (and not-so-sunny) days playing the game. Known as "Hollywood" to his fellow golfers at The Cottonwood Country Club, he relished his associations and friendships with the many other members of the Club. He played golf on Fridays for years with his fraternity brothers and friends. And his family will especially treasure memories of its annual Mother's and Father's Day golf outings. Anyone who knew Tom knew that the other great passion of his life was restoring classic cars. He was very talented and only "Concours Quality" was acceptable to Tom on any restoration project he took on. His last endeavor, which took him five painstaking years, was a 1966 Colorado Red Austin Healey 3000. It was his most challenging project and yielded him the Peoples' Choice Award at the 2007 Concours d'Elegance car show. Tom was a proud member of the Bonneville Austin Healey Club and had many good friends who shared his passion for cars. Tom is survived by his devoted wife Ann of 45 years; son, Marc Henderson and daughter Tara
