Obituary: Ruth Park Garner

Ruth Park Garner

1931 ~ 2007

Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on November 1, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Milton R. Park and Grace Clarkson Park. She married Earl H. Ford on September 24, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were later divorced. She married David Garner on August 15, 1981 in the Provo Temple. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1993. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various positions in the church, including serving as a temple worker with her husband David. One of Mom's passions was growing a large garden and sharing the fruits of her hard work with others. She also loved attending Payson High School football and basketball games. She was known as the "Team Mom". She was also an active member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by her daughter and three sons, Elaine (Bruce) Jones, Howard (Brenda) Ford, Brent

(Vickie) Ford, and Karl (Polly) Ford. She is also survived by two brothers and five sisters, Merlin F. Park,

Renee Crane, June Wightman, Beth (Stan) Sumsion, Ann Jacobs, Norma (Norman) Edward, and John C. Park. She was preceded in death by her brother, Owen M. Park, and a grandson, Heber Eric Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tues. November 6, 2007 at 12 noon at the Mt. View 6th Ward Chapel, 681 E. 500 North, Payson, Utah. Family and friends may call on Monday evening, November 5, 2007 from 6-8 p.m at Walker Mortuary, 587 S. 100 West, Payson, or on Tues. morning at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
