Leola S. Smith
1931 ~ 2007
MAGNA-Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Leola Silcox Smith passed away October 12, 2007 in Salt Lake City. She was born August 5, 1931 in Magna to Rupert Sidney and Clara Josephine Steadman Silcox. She married Kenneth W. Smith June 24, 1955 in Magna; their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple.
Leola was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Stake Sports Director, Regional Camp Director, Relief Society president, Young Women's president, and truly loved being the Primary chorister. She enjoyed camping, loved chocolate, and especially loved being with her family.
Survived by her children, LaNett (Cliff) Garrick, Julie Olsen, and Guy (Kathy) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Arva Stewart; brothers-in-law, Floyd Fleming, Doug (Jackie) Smith, and Lee Smith; sisters-in-law, Lee Silcox, Maomi Silcox, and Melba Stewart.
Preceded in death by parents; husband; brothers, Nello and Bud Silcox; sisters, Leona Silcox, Farrel Buckner, and Zelda Fleming.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends and family may call both Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
