The candidates against Referendum 1 have done a great disservice to the residents of Syracuse. Their not agreeing to take part in an organized and open debate speaks volumes about their motives. I urge all citizens "for" and "against" the referendum to attend the debate. Taking part in debates in free societies strengthens both sides.
