LAYTON - Max Bryson Holbrook, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at his home in Layton of causes incident to age. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Max was born on December 21, 1921 in Woods Cross, Utah, to
David and Mary Holbrook. Max graduated from Davis High School, class of 1940 and attended Utah State Agricultural College. Max married the love of his life, Blanche Crawley, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 24, 1942. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Max was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many positions through his life, including a mission later in life with his wife. Together Max and Blanche reared four sons. Max's greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Max had a great sense of humor and a special way with his children and grandchildren. Max was a leading influence in the lives of his sons and grandchildren, teaching them the value of love, family, and work. One of Max's favorite activities was fishing with his family. He loved having his family help him with family work projects, teaching them valuable skills. Max considered work as a family celebration, and we celebrated a lot!
